One in four girls are sexually abused. Most never report it. The ones that do are often not believed... even by their own mothers. Child Services can't often prove these allegations. The "Good Touch, Bad Touch" presentations given in the schools encourage children to come forward if they are being abused. These brave children that do come forward are often placed back into the homes with their abusers because the allegations can't be proven. This is still a very secretive issue. Children that are abused sexually are full of shame. They are full of guilt. They are led to believe that it is their fault. Let me assure you... IT IS NOT!
What is sad is that a small portion of adults have made false allegations to try to gain custody of their children. False allegations are rare in the overall scheme of things, but the impact of these lies is that the children and those that are trying to protect them come under a more intense investigation than the one the allegations are made against.
God is a healer and a deliverer. I am so thankful for those that have endured this abuse having the bravery to publicly speak out about this issue. I am very grateful to Joyce Meyer for being obedient to Christ and talking about an issue that so many never open up and discuss.
Please take the time to view this video. But be prepared for your heart to be broken.
