No Regrets

Jasmine and Laura 2007
I have always been one of those people that is constantly taking pictures.  My kids are the ones sometimes groaning, "Mom, come on.  That's enough pictures!"  I was a scrapbook nut for awhile too.  It's fun!  There's something about pictures, though, that just draws me in.  It's a moment in time, captured forever.
Laura meeting Megan for the 1st time
I have captured some important moments.  And even when I can't take the picture myself, like in the picture above when I had just given birth to my youngest daughter, I will have the picture taken.  I may not have the natural talent that my younger sister has, but I still just keep clicking away.  I have recorded the lives of my children.  I have all the adventures we have had and the places we have gone.

I have the school functions and the great moments.  I have captured so many of them.
Tasha's Egg
There's even some pictures that might be considered insignificant, like art projects and silly photos with friends.

So many of the photos are priceless to me.  I look at the picture and am transported back to that moment.
When I think back over the years, and I remember my five daughters that God has blessed me with, I am in awe.  You see, this blended family was never supposed to make it statistically.  We were never supposed to be close and loving.  We certainly weren't supposed to find Christ and every single one of us love Him.  But God had plans.  He held this blended family in the palm of His Hand even before we knew Him and made Him the center of our lives.
Me and my husband at Megan's baby shower
He took an unsaved man and woman, knowing He would draw them close one day, and gave them the joy of raising five gorgeous young women.  He blessed us with something special.
Me and Megan

So, yes, I love pictures.  I have no regrets about taking the thousands of photos that I have taken over the years.  I have photos of the different states I lived in before I settled back in my home state.  I have photos of the wonderful people I have met over the years.  I have photos of the boring, ordinary days that most people would not think to capture. I am glad God put me on this Earth at a time when technology exists that allows me to capture the life God has blessed me with.
