Laura had a busy week with her school work. She made a slingshot out of yarn, replicating the one David had to kill Goliath. She also has been working very hard on her subjects. We have a couple different read alouds going on right now. We are working steadily through Jashub's Journal. Laura's favorite book right now that we are reading together is the Saturdays. The Melendy children are hysterical!
Dad jumps in to help when he can. He was listening to Laura and I read A Child's Geography, and he was impressed. He is a firm believer in having a solid grasp of the Old Testament. Many times, in teaching, he has discovered that children may have heard a lot about the New Testament, but have only a small grasp of some of the Old Testament stories. He wants our children to have a lot more exposure to the Old Testament so that they may understand God more fully. He really likes them learning about the geography of Israel, with it linked to some of the Bible stories (both New and Old Testament). He must have spent forty minutes looking through A Child's Geography Volume II. He wants to use the material in teaching at church some time.
