The Great Room Switcheroo!

What A Mess!
A couple weeks ago my oldest daughter nearly died from dehydration after being in the heat.  When she was being released from the hospital, the doctor told me that, now that this has become a problem for Kim with her diabetes, she should be very careful.  We live in a house that is quite old.  My daughter has lived upstairs, but she often feels sick from the heat up there.  We have central air, but it doesn't do well upstairs.

We decided to move Kim downstairs permanently.  She would have to share a room with her sister Jasmine, but it seemed the easiest solution.  It was decided that Dad and I would move upstairs.  So, after a few weeks of trying to get everyone home with the time to work, we began moving.  All of Kim's stuff was piled in her sisters' bedroom while we moved all the other rooms.
Tasha's own room
It took awhile to move everything.  Tasha is getting her own room.  Kim is the oldest, and should get her own room, but she is also the one that needs the air conditioning.  Tasha, the next oldest, gets the small upstairs room.  She wants to paint the room eventually.
This little purple room is to be the mom and dad bedroom.  We also are hoping to paint... soon.  Purple is not my husband's color.

While not decorated very well, this is our room.  Being upstairs is different for us.  It makes me nervous that I won't hear the younger children if they should need me.  I usually sleep with the door open for that purpose.  Our bed-frame is old and falling apart, so my husband is going to try to fix it or we'll have to get new.  The rooms have successfully been switched.  It was a lot of work!  It's been awhile since I've had to move things around like that, but it was worth it.  Not only is my daughter going to be in a healthier, cooler place, but we got to get rid of a lot of clutter in the process.
