Laura missed school today. It's partly my fault. I had a doctor's appointment and, after that, we just hung out in town with Grandma. These next couple weeks may be like that. With construction going on with my home and surgery probably being scheduled and doctor's appointments before and after, school may not be as steady as I'd hope.
I wish there was a way around this, but this is just one of the challenges of homeschooling. Things don't always go as planned. Oh well, during my recovery maybe Laura and I will just lay in bed and read. We haven't been hitting the read a-louds like we should. I always seem to plan them at the end of the day, when things go wrong and interruptions happen most.
Laura has learned to latch-hook for 4-H. She is in basic crafts for her first year. The 4-H leader's advice was to pick one thing, do a couple projects, and then maybe try something else. She said a lot of kids pick a bunch of stuff and then are spread too thin or quit. I agreed with her. We picked out a pretty puppy latch-hook from Walmart for Laura's first project. This is pretty basic. I'll pick a more in-depth one for her second latch-hook from Hobby-Lobby or Micheals. It all depends on how well she does with the first one. After that maybe we'll try some sand-art or something. I'll take lots of pictures to show off her projects.
