This week was a full one. Laura is wanting Spring Break next week, but a part of me wants to wait. I know my surgery on my gall-blader is coming up, though I don't have a date yet. I want to be able to recover without feeling like Laura is going to get behind. This week was successful.
BIBLE - Laura began reading about Solomon in Old Testament Stories. She began the book of Luke in her New Testament reading. She also worked on her Cooking badge for Prims.
MATH - Laura is learning to multiply by 4. She had some extra help from one of her sister's friends that is spending the week with us for her Spring Break.
SCIENCE - Laura is studying different types of birds. She is finding this fascinating. She keeps coming up to me and telling me different facts. It's awesome.
HISTORY - We are back to American History after a venture off path into Social Studies. Laura is leading up to the American Revolution. I don't think we will get through all of American History this year, but we will come back to it eventually.
LANGUAGE ARTS - Laura learned about to, too, and two. She also began learning about using a dictionary.
HANDWRITING - Laura practiced letters K through P. She is getting better and neatness.
READING - Laura finished Sarah, Plain and Tall. She seemed to really enjoy this book. Next week she is going to begin an American Girl book. I might pick out something else too, cause the American Girl book is really to help with History. I still have a couple on my list that I want her to read that she hasn't devoured yet. I am so grateful that she loves to read. It makes teaching her so easy.
This week flew by. I think having my daughter's friend around really helped. The girl just made things easier. Also, we had our satellite shut off Tuesday. Laura wasn't tempted to go watch TV during her breaks. She seemed to focus better when she took that time and did something else like ride her bike.
