Weekly Wrap-up 2-06-09

With doing school only three days this week, we really didn't get much accomplished. Our study on bees and farming has been post-poned until next week. This week we had a light week. Laura got up early both yesterday and this morning and had nearly all of her work done by 10 a.m.

BIBLE - Laura read three Old Testament Stories in her story book. She finished up Prims Church. We didn't do any New Testament reading this week. Laura did, on her own, two lessons in Leading Little Ones to God.

MATH - Laura did three lessons in her Abeka Arithmetic book.

SCIENCE - Laura began to study butterflies in her Science Pace. Next week I think I will hold off on any more butterfly study until we can do it separate from bees.

SOCIAL STUDIES - Laura continued to learn about communities. Next week we will study farming and farming communities. It's not something new to her since we are surrounded by cornfields.

READING - Despite the short week, we did some reading. Laura finished The Secret in the Maple Tree. She began The Adventures of Laura and Jack. We also finished Charlotte's Web this morning. Next week we will begin a new book...either A Cricket in Times Square or Emily's Runaway Imagination. We have read so many awesome books this year, and we have so many more on the list. In Reading Skill Laura did two lessons.

LANGUAGE ARTS - Laura was working on plurals this week. We didn't do spelling.

WRITING - Laura's worked on cursive V and W.

Next week I hope to be more concentrated in our studies. I have two appointments next week, so some of our work may be done in the van. Is there Mini-van schooling? It was nearly 50 degrees today, so Laura went outside for a bit. She played with Megan on the snow hill until Megan got grumpy.
