It was such a simple experiment. Megan's science book was teaching about water. She was introduced to water in three forms: liquid, solid (ice), and gas (steam). To learn about water as a gas, my husband used the tea kettle and created some water vapor. Once the steam started coming out of the kettle, he held a plate over the steam, allowing the water to condense on the plate.
Megan loved it! Understanding about steam, that it is water, just thrilled her! Next week we start learning about clouds. That should be fun. Maybe, if it isn't raining, we'll go outside and see what pictures we can see in the clouds.
